Umeå District Court has about 85 employees and is a general court as well as an environmental court. The court is also administratively coordinated with the Rent and Lease Board in Umeå. The general department of the district court handles criminal cases, civil cases, court matters, and bankruptcies. The environmental court reviews decisions under, among other things, the Environmental Code, the Land Consolidation Act, and the Planning and Building Act. The Rent and Lease Board mediates and makes decisions in disputes concerning housing, premises, landowners, and tenants.

As a security guard at Umeå District Court, you will be part of a team in the court's administrative department. Within the administrative department, issues related to HR and finance for the entire court, archives, security, IT, maintenance, registration, and reception are handled.

We are now looking for a security guard for Umeå District Court.

The work involves

In the role of security guard with us, you will staff the court's security control and reception. The majority of the workday consists of administrative tasks such as handling public documents, managing lay judges, invoice processing, and providing technical support in the courtrooms. It may also involve handling reimbursements to parties, travel bookings, booking study visits, and other administrative tasks. IT issues, mail handling, and maintenance tasks are also part of the job.

The work also includes monitoring negotiations and public areas, handling alarms, and intervening in disturbances. You will participate in fire safety work and manage access cards and visitor routines. You are also the court's support for the technology in the courtrooms, so it is expected that you can or are willing to learn about courtroom technology.

You are the first person that the court's visitors meet when they arrive at the courthouse; you assist them and answer questions, which requires the ability to handle different people and situations in a professional manner. The work involves many contacts and collaboration with other authorities, organizations, and the public.

We are looking for someone who

We are looking for someone who has at least a high school education and a valid security guard license. Since the position includes a range of different administrative tasks, experience in administrative work and/or customer service is highly meritorious.

You are service-oriented and enjoy helping people, both internally and externally. You have a very good ability to meet people in different situations and build trust. You quickly absorb knowledge and solve problems flexibly. It is also important that you are proactive and ensure that things get done. You will work together with all employees at the court, which places high demands on your ability to collaborate.

To be considered for employment, you must meet high standards regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. This means that you stand up for democratic values and the state values that govern the operations of Sweden's courts. Background checks may be conducted prior to employment.

This position may involve military placement according to applicable regulations. This means that you may need to work on tasks that are critical to the functioning of society during a crisis or war.
